Kidnapping Continues; Madhepura Boy the Latest Victim

Madhepura: Aug. 24, 2007

Kidnappers in Bihar struck again on Friday when they picked up a six-year old son of a businessperson from Gamharia Bazaar area in Madhepura as he walked towards his school with his sister, the police in Madhepura said.

As reported, at around 6:15 am, Sujan, the servant of fertilizer trader Anil Kumar Bhagat was taking six-year old Bumbum and his ten-year old Prerna to Jyoti Mission School on a bicycle when four youths on two motorcycles forced them to stop. At the point of a pistol, the criminals snatched Bumbum from the bicycle and fled towards Supaul.

Some men on motorcycle in the area tried to give a chase to the kidnappers but were unsuccessful in their attempt to free Bumbum from their clutches.

Angry protestors, after hearing the news of abduction, blocked the main road for over 4 hours demanding immediate arrests of the criminals and safe recovery of the kidnapped boy.

The crowd dispersed only after the police assured them of cracking the case soon.

The police believe the involvement of Pintu Yadav gang in the abduction of Bumbum.

Raids are being conducted in Madhepura and Supaul though the police are yet to get any break in the case.
