Woman's Body Recovered from Kankarbagh Flat

Patna: Aug. 25, 2007

The police in Kankarbagh on Saturday, after being notified by some residents of foul stench coming out a flat, discovered the badly-decomposed body of a woman wrapped in bedding in the MIG (H) sector near the tempo stand, officials said.

Kankarbagh police station in-charge Ramakant Prasad said that after hearing complaints of strong foul odor coming out of a flat, the police broke into it only to discover the body of a 30-something woman who appeared to have been strangulated by her killer a few days ago.

Based on the evidences collected from the flat, the police identified the woman as Puja of Sohsarai in Nalanda district.

Neighbors said the woman had left her husband Vijay Kumar and had been living with another man known as Gurusharan.

However, no one had seen the man or the woman in last ten days or so.

The police are trying to contact Puja's family members and are looking for Gurusharan, Prasad said.
