More than 10,000 young aspirants from Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh on Sunday took part in the entrance test for admission in the famed Super-30 institute that has gained worldwide recognition for their ability to prepare students for admission in the highly-coveted Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
Held at Patna's St. Michael's High School, students and their guardians lined up outside the campus from early morning to ensure their entry in the school.
Co-founder of the institute and noted mathematician Anand Kumar, while talking to the media after the test, said the institute, because of its remarkable success rate in preparing students for admission in the IITs, would offer free coaching to 100 more students from humble background.
"Because of the immense success of the Institute, we have decided to prepare 100 more students each session completely free of cost," Kumar said.
Last year, 29 out of 30 students coached by the Super-30 gained entry into the IITs.
The Institute was co-founded by Kumar and Bihar's Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Abhayanand.
