Husband Puts up Reward Money for Information on his Missing Wife
Patna: Aug. 28, 2007
With the police's failure to recover the woman who went missing under mysterious circumstances from a train in North Bihar a couple of weeks ago, the husband of the missing woman, on Tuesday, announced a reward of Rs. 1 lakh to anyone who would find or inform the whereabouts of Rani Archana Singh.
Expressing his frustration over the police inadequacies, Rajiv Singh, the husband of Rani, said he has put up the reward money because he believed someone had to know what happened to his wife on the night of August 14 when his wife vanished from the New Jalpaiguri-Patna Capital Express somewhere near Katihar.
Singh has also put up posters of his wife on railway stations in Katihar and other stations in North Bihar hoping to find any clue in the disappearance of his wife of four months.
Rani, the daughter of Additional District and Sessions Judge of Banka Mr. Subhash Chandra, was reported missing from the train while returning from Darjeeling with her husband Rajiv Kumar.
The couple was last seen together having dinner at Katihar railway station at around 8:30 pm on Aug. 14 after which they retired for the night.
The woman was found missing by her husband at around 5:00 am on Aug. 15. Her purse and sandal were found in the train indicating some foul play in the case.
