Criminals Lob Bombs, Rob Business in Sabzi Bagh
Patna: Dec. 1, 2007
Criminals in Patna's Sabzi Bagh area under Pirbahore police station on Saturday night shattered the silence by exploding more than half a dozen bombs during the commission of an armed robbery at the Popular Homeopathic Pharmacy, the police said.
In a police report filed by the owners of the shop Gaurav and Rakesh Gupta, three men armed with country-made pistols entered the shop at around 10:00 pm when they were getting ready to close the shop for the night.
Taking the three men, including a customer, hostage at gun points, the robbers then emptied the safe containing more than Rs. 10,000. They also snatched a gold chain from Gaurav Gupta and three cell phones from their victims and escaped in the cover of the darkness by exploding over half a dozen crude bombs and firing in the air to prevent people from giving a chase to them.
Two men who ran a tea shop near the crime spot were slightly hurt by the flying shrapnel and were taken to the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) for treatment.
Pirbahore police station is investigating the case.
