Several Injured as Train Rams into Passenger Train in Saharsa

More than three dozen people were reportedly injured when the Saharsa-Forbesganj passenger train crashed into the stationary Saharsa-Katihar passenger train that was preparing to leave the platform at Saharsa on Saturday morning.
The accident took place at around 7:00 am on Platform Number 3 just minutes before the Saharsa-Katihar train was to leave the station.
Injured passengers were taken to various hospitals in Saharsa where they remain in stable condition.
Authorities were looking into the cause of the accident though the cabin man, who is yet to be found, is believed to be responsible for the incident.
Meanwhile, angry passengers reportedly roughed up the station master and the driver of the offending engine has been taken into railway police custody, reports said.
Railway Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad Yadav was yet to visit the site or make a comment on the accident.
