Sushil Modi Hurt at Delhi Airport
New Delhi: Dec. 2, 2007
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, while being transported from the Delhi's domestic airport lounge to the waiting Jet Lite Airways aircraft on the tarmac, hurt himself when the bus driver suddenly slammed the brake ejecting the occupants from their seats in a violent manner.
The jerk threw Modi on the floor who then hit the metal holding bar hurting his spine in the process.
He was rushed to a local hospital where he was treated for minor spinal injury and ordered rest for the whole week.
Other Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in the bus including Kalraj Mishra, Ravi Shankar Prasad, and Modi's personal secretary Shailendra Kumar Mishra escaped injury, reports said.
Bihar BJP president Radha Mohan Singh blamed the UPA government of ignoring the safety of the passengers at nation's airports.
It may be recalled that on October 23, Patna native and aeronautical engineer Sansriti Sinha, who worked for the Air Deccan at Delhi's Palam Airport, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at the Palam runaway.
Sansriti appeared to have died of trauma caused by being hit by an airport vehicle.
No one was ever charged in the accident.
