Opposition leaders led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) at Bihar Assembly on Monday staged a walk out amidst protest over the plight of the elementary and middle school teachers and conditions of Bihar roads causing disruption in the session for nearly half an hour.

Also demanding more respect from the bureaucrats, the opposition leaders chanting slogans like 'down with bureaucracy', entered the well and refused to listen to the Assembly Chairperson Uday Narayan Chowdhary and Energy Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav who tried to persuade them to restore some sanity in the House.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, in an attempt to placate the opposition, asked the Chief Secretary to present a report on their complaints and directed Bihar officials to accord proper respect to all members of the legislature.

"Not only that, these government officials should also be careful in dealing with ordinary people. Any disregard for the public's feelings would not be tolerated by the government," Kumar said.
