Thousands of Madarsa and Sanskrit teachers on Tuesday took out a rally in Patna to press for their seven-point demands including implementation of fair wage policy, comparative amenities and other perquisites given to the teachers at other regular schools in Bihar.

The rally started at Gandhi Maidan and after passing through the Radio Station and Dak Bungalow crossing, arrived at the R-Block where the protestors were stopped by the security detail from moving towards the state Assembly building.

After failing to go through the police barricade, the rally then turned into a public meeting where leaders from various opposition parties took turn to lash out at the Nitish government accusing it of going back on its electoral promises.

"Today we took our causes to the street but from tomorrow we will ambush our legislators to force them to listen to our demands and help us get justice," said a protestors.

The protest, however, once again brought the Patna traffic to its knee causing roadblocks in all major areas with many school buses and office commuters stuck in the passage.
