Jeweler Robbed of Rs. 2.5 lakh in Cash on Boring Road

Patna: Dec. 12, 2007

Armed criminals on Boring Road under Buddha Colony police station in Patna on Wednesday robbed a businessman of Rs. 2.5 lakh in cash though the police is finding some holes in the story given by the victim Sanjay Khemka.

As reported, Khemka and one of his employees opened the Sevika Diamond Jewelries on Wednesday morning and while Khemka was counting the cash to make a deposit at the bank, two men posing as customers entered the shop and demanded to see some diamonds.

However, before the owner could make his next move, the two men pulled out pistols and snatched nearly Rs. 2.5 lakh in cash and escaped on a motorcycle.

The police, however, are investigating the case from different angles.

As reported, the crime was committed at around 10:30 pm but not reported till around 3:00 pm. Besides, no one in the area could corroborate Khemka's story indicating it could be an inside job.

"We are not ruling out anything at this time and are currently investigating the case from the robbery angle," R. K. Mall, the police station in-charge of Buddha Colony police station said.
