Patna: Dec. 17, 2007

Health Minister's effigy burnt. Photo by Shashi UttamMembers of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Youth Front in Patna on Monday burnt the effigy of Central Health Minister A. Ramadoss at Dak Bungalow Crossing in protest against the minister's insulting comments about doctors from Bihar and demanded his sacking and an apology to the people of Bihar.

The Front state president Pradeep Dubey said Ramadoss was not only an incompetent minister ever to occupy the Health Ministry, he also was divisive and showed utmost hatred for the people of Bihar when in a recent event in New Delhi he said that doctors from Bihar were giving a bad name to the entire health system of the nation.

"It is a fact that today doctors from Bihar occupy very prominent positions throughout the world and all top medical facilities and to make such sweeping slur against the Bihari doctors indicates the shallowness and divisiveness of this individual who is not fit to become a peon in a government office," Sanjeev Kumar, another protestor said.
