Paswan Blames Nitish for failing to kick start Ailing Factory
Patna: Dec. 22, 2007
Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president and Union Chemical and Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, at a press conference in Patna on Saturday, once again accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of failing to transfer the Amjhor Pyrites and Phosphate factory in Rohtas to the Arawali Gypsum and Minerals India Ltd resulting in the delay of the reopening of the plant.
"We have asked the Chief Minister repeatedly to transfer the land to the Arawali Gypsum that is willing to settle the huge debt owed by the Amjhor Pyrites but the Bihar government is mum on settling the debts with Arawali Gypsum causing unnecessary delay in the reopening of the factory," said Paswan adding the state government should also scrap the dues of the plant.
"This factory is closed since 1999 and reopening of it would provide jobs to many people in the state," the LJP leader said.
Paswan who, like the Rashtriya Janata Dal's Lalu Prasad Yadav, has launched an all out assault on the Nitish-led NDA government in Bihar in a clear attempt to sway voters in his favor for the next Assembly elections, is projecting himself as the next Chief Minister of Bihar while his more ardent followers see him as the next Prime Minister of India, a dream shared by his fellow Cabinet minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.
