Science Express a Huge Success; Leaves for Katihar
Patna: Dec. 29, 2007
More than 10,000 people, on the last day of the Science Express currently stationed at Patna Junction, showed up to see the mobile science train causing a long line on the railway track where students waited more than two hours to get inside the coach and see how science has changed and continues to change the human lives.
The crowd started to gather on the platform starting 7:00 am; two hours before the doors opened for the public. By 9:00 am, the line stretched all the way to the Chiraiyantand Bridge causing some inconvenience to the regular train passengers.
Bihar Secretary of the Science for Society Dr. Devendra Prasad said the event was a huge success in Patna where students appeared more inquisitive and eager to learn more about science and how it continues to shape this planet on a daily basis.
With the five-day event at Patna Junction coming to an end on Sunday, the Science Express now moves to Katihar after which if would travel further east to Jalpaiguri in West Bengal.
