JD-U Leaders Demand Removal of Lalu for Abusing Power
Patna: July 2, 2007
Senior Janata Dal (U) leader Bhola Prasad Singh, on Monday, lashed out at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav for abusing his power by using special MR train to go from one place to another in an attempt to drum up support to bring down the NDA government in Bihar.
"Yadav is clearly abusing his power by traveling in trains and alluring legislators in his desperate attempt to bring down the Nitish government in the state. By doing so, he is murdering the democratic values of the nation," Singh said adding he has appealed to the Prime Minister to sack the Railway Minister for abuse of his Parliamentary position and anti-democratic approach to grab power.
Singh said if the UPA government refuses to fire Yadav, the NDA alliance in Bihar would be force to launch an agitation from Patna to New Delhi.
Earlier, JD-U leaders accused Yadav of anti-government activities for saying that he could bring down the NDA government in Bihar 'by a slight push of his finger'.
Party state president Lallan Singh called Yadav's statement as a 'sign of frustration of a power-hungry man'.
