RJD Leaders Condemn Mistreatment of Muslim Mukhia
Patna: July 2, 2007
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders Ramkripal Yadav and Ghulam Gaus, at a press meet in Patna on Monday accused the Danapur SDO of mistreating the Panchayat head of Jaitipur block in Naubatpur after she approached the SDO to complain about irregularities in distribution of kerosene by the local dealers on June 27.
Shagufta Khatun, the mukhia of Jaitpur, told the RJD leaders that when she went to see the SDO of Danapur, not only he refused to listen to her complaints, he also engaged in name-callings and using racial slurs.
Calling her a Pakistani agent, the SDO told her to leave, Khatun told the RJD leaders.
She further said that she went to the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's janata darbar but was not given the opportunity to meet the CM.
Demanding immediate suspension of the SDO, the RJD leaders said the SDO was a Rashtriya Swayam Sevak (RSS) stooge and if he was not removed from his post, the party would be forced to take its protest to the streets of Patna against the Nitish government's indifference towards the minorities.
