Shatrughan Sinha Opens Emergency Ward at Mahavir Hospital
Patna: July 3, 2007
Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shatrughan Sinha on Tuesday inaugurated the emergency ward of the orthopedic section of the Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital in Patna saying the facility run by the Mahavir Temple Board was one of the top five developed health facilities in the nation rendering valuable services to patients from Bihar and other states.
Sinha, who was accompanied by Board president Acharya Kishore Kunal and senior hospital officials, said it was unfortunate that while India was making developments in all economic areas, nearly 300 women were dying each day in the lack of adequate and timely medical help.
"We all will have to play our part to wipe this blotch from the face of the nation," the BJP leader and the star of hundreds of movies said in his inaugural speech.
Sinha also served as the Union Health Minister during the Vajpayee-led NDA government at the Center.
