A day before the official closing of the voting for the newest list of the world's seven wonders, politicians in Bihar joined the nationwide frenzy to vote for Taj Mahal by joining students and young men and women at Kargil Chowk in Patna where they voted by sending SMS messages to the organizer.

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Navin Kishore Sinha and Patna's newly-elected mayor Sanjay Kumar also dropped their usual stiffness and joined the people in voting for Taj Mahal, the eternal symbol of love.

The event was organized by the BJP University wing of Patna and attended by a number of party activists.

Not to be left behind, Congress' youth division also held several events throughout the city to encourage people to vote for Taj.

Similar events were held at the School for Blinds in Kadam Kuan and Bangali Akhara in Patna where Bengali ladies performed puja for the Taj Mahal to be included in the Seven Wonders of the World.

The new 7 wonders of the world, the brainchild of a Swiss businessman, will be unveiled Saturday 07.07.07.

Among the top vote-getters are believed to be Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China, according to some online sources.

With the last minute surge in voting, the traffic because so heavy that the server hosting the new7wonders.com crashed several times.

The results are to be announced at a star-studded event on Saturday in Lisbon, Portugal that boasts the names of stars like Oscar winner Hilary Swank, Sir Ben Kingsley, Bipasha Basu, Jennifer Lopez and 80s' sensation Chaka Khan.
