State Assembly, on the second day of the week-long monsoon session on Friday, witnessed usual chaotic scenes created by both ruling party leaders and the extremely belligerent opposition that staged a boycott to protest against what they described as the Nitish government's failure to contain growing incidents of crime in Bihar.
Despite repeated pleas by the Speaker of the House Uday Narain Chowdhary, opposition leaders led by former Chief Minister of Bihar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rabri Devi refused to join the session chanting anti-government protests and calling it a complete failure on law and order situation.
The opposition also demanded stern actions against NDA leaders who they said were found to be supporting the banned Ranvir Sena, a private army of upper-caste landlords.
"The government is deliberately trying to protect those whose names have appeared in the Amir Das Commission report," alleged Rabri Devi.
Similar scenes were witnessed at the state legislative assembly where opposition leaders accused the Nitish government of ignoring the interests of backwards and dalits in view of the recent rape of a minor girl in the state capital.
