Nitish Government is about to Collapse: Lalu

Patna: July 14, 2007

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Saturday at the party's membership drive in Rajgir once again reiterated that the NDA government in Bihar was based on very weak foundations and it would take only a little kick in it if it had to be collapsed.

"This government is so weak that it may collapse before the RJD rally planned for October 28," Yadav said amidst lout applause.

"We cannot wait for five years for this government to collapse. With its failure in all aspects, it will take just a light shove to break the NDA government in Bihar," he went on.

Hoping to create internal dissent within the NDA parties, Yadav resorted to the classic divide and rule trickery saying all the legislators in the government were treated like peons and Nitish Kumar was best suited for the post of Chief Secretary.

"Bureaucrats have taken over the state and legislators have lost all the respect that they once used to enjoy. These same legislators would cause the downfall of the Nitish government," the Railway Minister said.

Also casting the time-tested communal rhetoric, Yadav accused the NDA government of ignoring the interests of the minorities, particularly the Muslims in the state.

"Minorities are being butchered in Bihar but the Nitish government is pretending as if everything is just peachy," the RJD leader said.

The training camp was inaugurated by Yadav and his wife and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi played the role of chief guest. Kanti Singh, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Jaiprakash Narain Yadav, Sadhu Yadav, Shyam Rajak, Akhilesh Singh, Iliyas Hussain, Ram Kripal Yadav, Ramchandra Purbey, Shyam Sunder Singh Dheeraj and a number of other RJD leaders were present at the meet.
