Lalu Desperate for Power in Bihar; Say NDA Leaders
Patna: July 15, 2007
The Janata Dal (U) and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Patna on Sunday expressed their strong resentments against the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's statement that the Railway Minister was in a position to topple the Nitish government 'by giving it a small shove'.
JD-U national spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari lashed out at Yadav saying the man was a power-hungry maniac who could and would do anything to once again gain entry into 1 Anne Marg, the Chief Minister's official residence.
"He is nothing but full of same old rhetoric and hollow talks that cheated Biharis for over 15 years. Instead of trying to understand why the people of Bihar kicked Lalu-Rabri and their minions out of power, they are once again conspiring and hatching plans in the guise of party training camp to grab power in the state," Tiwari said.
"The camp is nothing but a large scale 'Lalu-Rabri vandana' designed to boost the egos of its embattled leaders," he said.
"However, the people of Bihar are now much smarter and are not going to be fooled like they were for a decade and a half, with empty promises and caste-based politics. Lathi rally and now this Hull rally is not going to scare the voters to vote against the NDA candidates," Tiwari went on adding Lalu, Rabri, and their sycophants were finished in Bihar for good.
Meanwhile, JD-U leader Gyanendra Singh 'Gyanu' said he had concrete evidences that Lalu Prasad Yadav was trying to 'buy' NDA leaders by promising to offer them lucrative ministries.
"Lalu is calling our legislators and offering them ministerial berths if RJD once again came into power," Gyanu said.
"After being completely rejected by the voters in Bihar, Lalu is now licking the boots of Sonia Gandhi in an attempt to once again grab power by hatching plans with the Congress leader to topple the NDA government in the state," he said.
BJP state spokesperson Sanjay Mayukh and state media coordinator Arvind Kumar advised Yadav to quit dreaming about coming into power in Bihar.
"Their political future in Bihar is dead. If they had the slightest sense, they should wrap up their belongings in Patna and move to Delhi where Sonia Gandhi is there to protect them," they said.
