Nitish Shrugs off Lalu's Predictions
Patna: July 16, 2007
Reacting at the latest rambling of the Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on Monday, shrugged off Lalu's prophecy of an early demise of the NDA government in Bihar saying the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, who was shown door in Bihar, would soon be thrown out of Delhi as well in the next Lok Sabha elections.
"Not only the NDA government in Bihar would come in power again in 2010 polls, Lalu would lose his shirt in the national elections because people of India have seen enough of his clowning politics and are ready for some serious leaders who actually care for the nation and not just for a certain segment of the society," the Chief Minister said.
Speaking about Yadav's prediction, Kumar said the Railway Minister now was engaging in the lowest form of politics by making nonsensical statements that were unbecoming of a national leader.
Kumar also ridiculed the Railway Minister's latest strategy to offer reservation to upper caste people with limited economic means.
"This is the same man who made a career by pitching upper caste against lower caste and vice versa. People have not forgotten his MY (Muslim-Yadav) equation and his 'Bhura Baal' approach when he openly declared upper caste people as his sworn enemies. He must think that people have short memories and they will not remember his caste-based, divisive politics that allowed him to rule in Bihar for over a decade and a half," the Chief Minister said.
Kumar also described Yadav as a man who refuses to learn from his mistakes. "For power for himself and his family members, the Railway Minister is willing to go as low as he can but now his political future is dark. In Bihar, he is already finished and has become politically irrelevant and it is just a matter of time before he is kicked out of Delhi politics as well," he said.
