Two Injured as Power Cable Snaps in Patna City

Patna: July 22, 2007

A woman and a child were injured when a 440 volt electricity cable snapped and fell on the ground near Mangal Talaab in Patna City on Sunday.

Following the incident, hundreds of people in the area ransacked the power sub-station at Mangal Talaab and chased away the employees after they refused to get the cable fixed.

By the time police arrived, the protestors were long gone but not before causing damage to the extent of Rs. 5,000.

The victims who were identified as Pratima Devi and 8-year old Shahbaaz were taken to the Nalanda Medical College Hospital for burn injuries.
