Four Members of a Gang Arrested in Patna

In a joint operation undertaken by Shastri Nagar, S. K. Puri, and Kotwali police, the police in Patna on Thursday nabbed four members of an interstate gang of criminals wanted in several murder and robbery cases.
Speaking to the media, Sachivalaya DSP Sridhar Mandal said the police, after having received numerous complaints from people living near Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), launched a massive combing operation to catch the criminals.
On Thursday evening, a team of police led by Shastri Nagar police station in-charge Kamod Prasad, S. K. Puri station in-charge Madan Kishore Singh and Kotwali station in-charge Abhay Singh, raided their hideout in Sheikhpura, and arrested one Pankaj Kumar of Vaishali.
The police recovered a pistol, a motorcycle, and a mobile phone from Pankaj's possession.
Based on the information provided by Pankaj, the police raided other places in the town and arrested three more persons and recovered a pistol, 11 cartridges, and three mobiles, the police said.
Mandal said the four men had been wanted in a number of criminal cases including the recent armed robbery of a businessman in Hajipur during which they got away with Rs. 5 lakh.
The police are searching for the fifth and final member of the gang, the DSP said.
