Modi Pays Tribute to Kargil Martyrs

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, in the absence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who is on a 6-day goodwill trip to Mauritius, paid his tribute to the soldiers from Bihar who died in Kargil war at a function organized at Patna's Kargil Chowk on Thursday.
The event was marked by patriotic and inspirational songs by artists affiliated with Information and Public Relations Department. Members of the Armed Forces also saluted the martyrs and a large number of social workers, politicians, and cultural artists paid their respect to fallen soldiers who bravely chased away Pakistani infiltrators in the 1999 Indo-Pak war.
Others who also paid rich tributes to the soldiers included Water Resources Minister Ramashray Prasad Singh, Transport Minister Ajit Kumar, legislator Arun Kumar Sinha, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Shyam Rajak and many other local leaders.
