Fake Railway Job Racket Busted in Patna

Fake job racket busted. Photo by Shashi UttamThe Kotwali police in Patna on Monday arrested three young men from a hotel on Frazer Road for running a con game in the pretext of providing jobs in Indian Railways to unsuspecting unemployed youths at hefty fees.

Acting on a tip, the police raided a room in Hotel Gali located on Frazer Road and apprehended Ashutosh Kumar of Gaya, Neeraj Kumar of Patna, and Vijay Kumar of Begusarai while also seizing a number of fake admit cards and railway application forms from their room.

The three, under intense police grilling, admitted of their crime saying they charged anywhere between Rs. 1 lakh and 2 lakh for various jobs in the railways.

The police are further investigating the case to determine how many youths were duped and if there were more members in the gang, Kotwali police station in-charge Abhay Narayan Singh said.
