Two Bodies Recovered from Separate Areas

Patna: June 1, 2007

The police in Patna on Friday recovered the body of the 13-year old boy Yogesh Thakur who had been missing since Thursday evening from a water-filled ditch a couple of hundred yards from his home in Chandravihar Colony in Rajivnagar.

A student of Rajkiya Madhya Vidyalaya in A.G. Colony, Yogesh, nicknamed Chhotu, left his home on Thursday evening after having a small argument with his parents.

When he failed to return home that night, the parents lodged a complaint of missing person with the Rajivnagar police station on Friday.

During the search of the area, Chhotu's body was found lying in a mud-filled ditch not too far away from his home.

His body was sent to the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) for an autopsy.

Though nothing has been ruled out in the case, accident or suicide appears to be the main reason for Chhotu's death, officials said.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, the police also recovered the body of a building contractor Ashish Kumar, age 24, from behind a bush on Road Number 6 in Rajendra Nagar area.

Appearing to have been killed in some other area and then dumped in Rajendra Nagar, the police said the man had been extensively involved in the campaign of a candidate in the recently-concluded municipal polls in Patna and that fact could shed some light on his murder.
