Patna's Dipali in Final 12 of the Indian Idol

Patna Women's College Intermediate student Dipali, with her mesmerizing voice and gentle demeanor, has advanced into the final 12 of the hugely popular Indian Idol reality show beating 16 of the remaining top 28 contestants and earning praises from the judges.

The journey to the final 12 of the Indian Idol, now in its third season, had not been easy for the young singer from Patna who first had to impress the judges with her sweet melody to make a place for her in the top 124, then in top 66, followed by top 28 and now in the top dozen.

Thanking her parents and the people of Bihar, Dipali said she was extremely grateful for the support she continues to get from her homeland while also being encouraged by all the judges including singer Udit Narain, music director Anu Malik, singer Alisha Chinoy, and lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar.

A resident of Sri Krishnapuri, Dipali is the daughter of Special Branch sub-inspector Dinesh Kishore.

The final rounds of the Indian Idol are scheduled to begin on June 27.
