The police in Patna on Sunday said it had found some clues in the murder of Bhoomijio Construction supervisor Amerasan who was shot dead in Shastrinagar on Saturday night though an arrest was still pending as raids were being conducted to identify and apprehend the killers.
Shastrinagar police station in-charge Kamod Prasad said the police had some clue about the killers but refused to divulge any detail about the investigation.
"We hope to arrest the killers soon but since its an ongoing investigation, it would be improper to provide any more detail of the probe," Prasad said.
As reported, Amerasan, a native of Tamil Nadu, was dragged out of the motorcycle he was riding on Saturday night and then shot to death not too far away from the AIDS Control office in Shastrinagar.
Meanwhile, after the customary autopsy of the victim, his body was handed over to his family members who took it to Tamil Nadu on Sunday afternoon.
The police also interrogated Amerasan's co-worker Manohar Singh who was driving the motorcycle when the crime was committed.
"Amerasan was a hard worker and was liked by all the employees of the Bhoomijio Construction Company," Singh told the police adding before coming to Patna nearly two months ago, he was supervising construction works in Muzaffarpur.
