Modi Emphasizes Need of Computer Knowledge Among Teachers, Students

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, at a seminar on Teachers' Training Program organized at the Patna Women's College on Thursday said that in today's fast-changing world, it was imperative for everyone, including teachers, to learn about computers because it was only through the usage of computers, Bihar could be connected with the rest of the world.
Modi also showered heap of praise for Patna's premier girls' college saying it was the Patna Women's College (PWC) that first introduced vocational courses in its curriculum and even today, the college leads in offering the most number of courses that are practical in today's world.
Commending the college for introducing rigorous training programs for teachers and faculties, Modi said such programs were absolute necessity to equip today's teachers to deal with the changing academic environment and must be emulated by other colleges in Bihar.
College principal Dr. Sister DeSouja, in her speech said the college would be introducing six new certificate courses in the next session and was committed to produce quality students who were prepared to take on the future.
The event was organized by the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD).
Others to speak on the occasion included BIPARD president G. C. Dutta, Mira Dutta, Indrajeet Mittal, and Amitabh Prasad.
