Shahabuddin Gets 3 years of RI in Motorcycle Theft Case

The house of card built by the convicted criminal and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Mohammed Shahabuddin is fast coming down crashing as the incarcerated MP received yet another setback on Saturday when a Siwan court sentenced him to 3 years of rigorous imprisonment in the case of a stolen motorcycle.
The court, however, acquitted Shahabuddin on kidnapping charges in the lack of adequate evidences.
The case relates to the 2005 theft of a motorcycle owned by Shubh Narayan Prasad and alleged abduction of a Congress leader in Ballia in 1990.
Prasad's motorcycle was found at the house of Shahabuddin during a raid by the then District Magistrate C. K. Anil.
While the special judge V. V. Gupta convicted the MP for receiving and concealing stolen property, he acquitted him in the kidnapping case involving a Congress leader from in the lack of adequate evidence and the failure of the petitioner to show up in the court.
Last month Shahabuddin was convicted in the murder of one Chhotey Lal Gupta and was sentenced to life imprisonment by a special court in Siwan.
He still faces over 30 criminal cases that range from murder to anti-national activities.
