Government Dissolves Inter-University Board

Patna: Mar. 5, 2007

The state government, on Monday, dissolved the Bihar Inter-University Board at the recommendation of the State Administrative Reform Commission to accord total autonomy to the universities in Bihar in an attempt to reorganize them on the pattern of Central universities.

Employees of the board would be accommodated as per the provisions made in the Bihar State Agricultural Marketing Board (Dissolution) Bill, 2006, officials said.

The government is planning to set up a 3-member committee that would prepare a detailed plan on the future of the existing employees including determining their retirements – both voluntary and involuntary and other conditions related to their employment status.
