The Railway Police in Patna, on Saturday, seized a deer from the Buxar-Patna passenger train after some travelers complained to the police about the illegal transportation of an animal in the train.

When the police searched the compartment in question, they found a deer, but the people accompanying the animal had already disappeared, officials said.

The deer was handed over to the Sanjay Gandhi Botanical Garden officials for proper care.

Attempts were on to identify and nab those who were illegally transporting the buck, the police said.
