Flyovers to Ease Patna Traffic in Two Years

Patna: Mar. 11, 2007

The state Bridge Construction Corporation is moving ahead full steam on four flyovers to ease Patna from its horrendous traffic condition, further worsened by a non-stop parade of protestors that sucks away several years from one's life just trying to reach from point A to point B.

So far, eight companies from various parts of the country have placed their bid who have also been asked to submit their designs, officials said.

The four flyovers for which the state has allocated Rs. 200 crore, will literally connect Patna from all four sides including from Sheikhpura to Jagdeo Path; from near Patna Women's College to A. N. College; from near Rajendra Nagar over-bridge to Chiraiyan Tanr bridge; and from R-Block to Birchand Patel Marg.

All the flyovers are expected to be completed within two years, officials said.
