CM Lashes Out at Opposition's Display of Rowdy Behavior
Patna: Mar. 12, 2007
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, following the unruly conduct by the opposition leaders in the state Assembly on Monday, condemned the incident by calling the opposition's behavior deplorable that degraded the dignity of the House while setting a horrible precedent for the future generation.
"What happened in the Assembly today was shameful and regrettable," Kumar said adding the NDA government was not running at the mercy of the opposition leaders.
"People of Bihar have given us an opportunity to serve the state while directing the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) to sit in the opposition. Now the RJD should comply with the people's verdict in a responsible, not destructive, manner," the Chief Minister said.
"By creating ruckus in the Assembly on a daily basis they think they can disrupt the proceedings but we will not allow them to do so. There are works to be done and problems to be solved. Such outrageous behavior must be condemned by one and all," he said.
Speaking on the RJD legislator Kunti Devi's allegations of not arresting those who allegedly blew up her house in Gaya district, Kumar said the police was investigating the case and only after that, any action would be taken against the six men named in the FIR.
