Heavy rain and gusty wind on Monday left a trail of destruction at Gandhi Maidan in Patna damaging much of the artificial village constructed for the ongoing Vasant Saras Mela causing much concerns for the visitors who have come from far and away to showcase their products.

Much to the disappointment of the organizers and the participants, the storm ripped off the podium while blowing away thatched roofs of many stalls as the rain drenched specialty items inside.

To further aggravate the situation, two electricians were received burn injuries when a live electrical wire fell on them. The accident left one with a broken arm and another with a severed finger.

Both were rushed to the hospital where they were being treated for their injuries.

Artists however, undaunted by the nature's unwillingness to cooperate, resumed their show at the drenched carpet on the 'Amrapali' stage in spite of low audience turnout. Vendors also continued to try to sell their products hoping to make up some of the losses caused by the storm.
