Raza Murad Talks about Acting
Patna: Mar. 16, 2007
Well-known character actor Raza Murad, during his appearance at Patna's Ravindra Bhawan where he addressed the students of Arcade Business College on Friday, thanked the youths of Bihar for their continued support and love that they had showed to him for his roles in over 400 films since entering the film world over 30 years ago.
"Artists hone their skills by years of hard work, practice, and dedication. Acting is not the property of one single individual or family; anyone can become a good actor provided he or she is willing to make some sacrifices and work hard," the actor said in his speech amidst applause.
The actor said that in spite of his break in his first film with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri in "Ek Nazar" in 1971 and a critically acclaimed role in Amitabh-Rajesh Khanna starrer 'Namakharam', he had to struggle for years to make a name for himself in the Indian cinema.
"Any art is like a vast ocean. Only when you take many dips, you can expect to achieve success," Murad said.
He also signed autographs for many of his fans in the audience.
Ashish Kumar, the director of the college, offered the welcome message.
