Modi Pays Tribute to Dr. Shailendra Nath Srivastava

Patna: Mar. 20, 2007

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, at a memorial service in honor of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Patna University professor Dr. Shailendra Nath Srivastava, on Tuesday, compared the late MP to Mahatma Gandhi and Jai Prakash Narayan saying Dr. Srivastava was a man of many talents.

"Dr. Srivastava was one of those rare people who was blessed with many talents. He was a great leader and a dedicated teacher who was loved and respected equally by his students and contemporaries," Modi said.

"Today whatever I am, the credit entirely goes to Dr. Srivastava. Had he not become a Member of the Parliament, I would have never become a legislator," the BJP leader said.

Modi also released two books, namely 'Naman', and 'Badalte Sandarbhon Mein Uchch Shiksha', on the occasion.
