Suspended JD-U Leader Flexes Muscle
Patna: Mar. 23, 2007
Controversial politician and former Janata Dal (U) MP with long criminal history, Anand Mohan, in a function organized by his 'supporters' at Ravindra Bhawan in Patna on Friday, slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar calling him a 'leach' who can 'suck one's blood out of anyone'.
"I am neither afraid of him, or jail, or the speedy trial. I don't believe in being in politics by being a sycophant of other leaders. That's not my style," Anand Mohan who makes Patna's Beur Jail his home for his involvement in over a dozen criminal cases including murder, said to his supporters.
"This government is worthless and I will not sleep until I have made sure NDA government is out of power in Bihar," he said.
Details still remain sketchy as to how Anand Mohan was allowed by the authorities to attend the function organized by his supporters.
Known for his despise for the law of the land, Anand Mohan in 2006, with the help from jail officials, escaped from Saharsa Jail only to be caught a few months later at Patna Junction amidst high drama by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kundan Krishnan.
