Six People Perish in Truck-Tempo Collision

Six people died and two seriously injured in a head on collision between an overloaded tempo and an oncoming truck on Patna-Gaya Road under Gopalganj police outpost on Friday afternoon leading to a the torching of the truck by an angry mob and road jam for hours.

The victims were identified as Siyaram Singh (40) of Madhopur, Ramji Singh (25) of Koeli, Ramlagan Rai (50) of Sri Tola, Bittan Pandit (45) of Fatehpur, Rampravesh Mistry (50) of Ilahibad.

Two victims remained in critical conditions at the PMCH.

The truck driver managed to escape after the accident, the police said.

Senior police officials rushed to the accident site and after much persuasion, managed to disperse the crowd.
