Sports Complex Coming to Patna University

Patna University Vice Chancellor Dr. Y. C. Simadri, at a meeting of the University Development Committee on Monday, said the university would soon build a modern sports complex within the Ancient History complex at the cost of Rs. 1 crore out of which Rs. 30 lakh would come from the University Grant Commission (UGC).
"The university has already received Rs. 15 lakh for this purpose from the UGC," the Vice Chancellor said.
"All renovation and new construction work will be undertaken by the Central Public Construction Department and all works will be closely and routinely scrutinized by an ad hoc vigilance committee," he further said.
Other plans include building of a language block within the Patna College campus; expansion in the restroom facility within the historical Darbhanga House, renovation and modernization of all dormitories particularly the Hathua and Saidpur hostels that are in very dilapidated conditions," Dr. Simadri said.
Among those who attended the meeting included Patna University registrar Dr. Vibhash Kumar Yadav, Dr. Ejaz Ali Arshad, proctor Dr. Kriteshwar Prasad, Development Officer Dr. Bhagwan Prasad Singh, among many others.
