Another Under-trial Prisoner Escapes from Police Custody
Patna: Mar. 29, 2007
Once again making a fool of the Bihar police, notorious criminal Guddu Chowdhary on Thursday, somehow slipped out of the rope tied around his hand and escaped from police custody outside Danapur court in full view of other law enforcement officials.
Guddu Chowdhary was brought to the Danapur court from Beur Jail in Patna on charges of armed burglary. Like complete idiots, the police left Guddu Singh with other criminals outside the court without any supervision to obtain a copy of his arrest warrant.
By the time they emerged from the court house, Guddu Singh was long gone by scaling the court wall.
Like many times before, the criminals were not in handcuffs as if the police was deliberately allowing them opportunities to escape.
Incidentally, Guddu Chowdhary was arrested last year after years of hard labor by the state police.
Danapur police station in-charge Bachcha Singh said departmental proceedings will be initiated against two policemen Jagannath Rai and Dhurendra Pahalwan for 'less than professional' behavior.
