CM's Wife Admitted in Delhi Hospital

Patna: May 2, 2007

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on Tuesday, took his wife Manju Sinha on a chartered ambulance aircraft to New Delhi's Max Hospital after her condition became serious due to pneumonia and chest infection that she had been suffering from a couple of days.

Mrs. Sinha was earlier admitted to Sri Ram Nursing Home in Kankarbagh but when her condition failed to improve, the doctors advised her to be checked into a New Delhi hospital where more advanced treatments are available.

Kumar accompanied his wife to New Delhi in an Air Ambulance aircraft of Max Hospital where Mrs. Sinha remains admitted in the intensive care unit.

Her status is said to be improving and she is in stable condition, officials in the hospital have said.

A team of Patna doctors also accompanied the Chief Minister and his wife to the nation's capital.

Kumar has been with his wife in the hospital throughout her stay and is expected to return to Patna on Thursday barring any last minute development, sources said.
