Shahabuddin Involved in yet another Controversy
Patna: May 3, 2007
A day after he made threats to Barharia police station in-charge B. K. Pandey in a Siwan Court, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP from Siwan Mohammed Shahabuddin, on Thursday, threatened to kill Siwan jail officials resulting in yet another FIR against the leader who already faces nearly 40 criminal cases ranging from murders to auto-theft and nearly everything in between.
Officials in Siwan jail said Shahabuddin threatened to kill jailor Sanjiv Kumar when the latter was conducting his routine inspection of the jail on Thursday night.
As reported, Shahabuddin was angry at the jailor for taking a mug shot of the central minister and RJD leader M. A. A. Fatmi for his involvement in a criminal case.
"You are very fond of taking pictures, aren't you? Let me come out then I will teach you a lesson you will never forget," the jailor recounted Shahabuddin's words adding his harangue against him was liberally scattered with very dirty abusive words that he could not repeat in front of the media.
Reports further said the MP also threatened a jail guard of dire consequences on Thursday night.
A FIR has been filed against the MP while yet another FIR could be filed soon based on the jail guard's deposition.
