Three Political Activists Shot Dead in Separate Incidents
Dehri-on-Sone: May 4, 2007
Criminals in three separate incidents in Bihar on Friday gunned down three political activists sending a shiver in the political parlays as leaders at the lower rungs of various parties rushed to assemble even tighter security for themselves by hiring more muscle-power and purchasing arms.
As reported from Dehri-on-Sone in Rohtas district, armed assailants forced their entries into the house of a CPI-ML (Liberation) activist Paramhans Kharwar and after pulling him and his wife Sarita Devi out of the house, shot them in execution style.
At least half a dozen villagers who tried to put up a resistance against the criminals were also hurt in the incident though the extent of their injuries were not available till the time of reporting.
Meanwhile, in Naugachhia, a CPI-M leader Anand Mohan Singh was shot dead outside his home.
The police believe Singh could be a victim of war of attrition between various gangs operating in the area and may not be political in nature though a full investigation would be able to shed some light in the case.
In a third incident, a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) activist Om Prakash Jaiswal was shot to death in Mairwa block in Siwan district.
