Police Bullet Used to Kill Patna Contractor?
Patna: May 5, 2007
The police continued to hunt for any clue in the brutal murder of Patna contractor Ajay Kumar Singh who was shot dead in his car last Thursday though so far, barring a few educated guesswork, remains in dark as to the motive or the identities of his killers.
As the police await the results from the ballistic lab, sources said the bullets recovered from the victim's auto appeared to be of .38 bore that are exclusively used by the law enforcement officials.
"If that turns out to be true, it would give the case an altogether new dimension," said a senior police official who did not wish to go on record pending results from the crime lab.
Meanwhile, results of the fingerprints picked up from the car are also being eagerly awaited by the investigative team, Sachivalaya DSP Kumar Amar Singh said.
"We are also checking out the crime's possible connection with Beur Jail," Singh said adding at this juncture of the investigation, all options were open and the police was looking at the case from all angles.
