CM's Wife Shows Signs of Improvement

Patna: May 6, 2007

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's wife Manju Sinha who had been admitted at the Max Hospital in New Delhi since last Tuesday for pneumonia and severe chest infection is showing some sign of improvement though she is expected to remain in the hospital until the doctors consider it safe for her to return to Patna.

According to the team of doctors keeping round-the-clock vigil on her, Mrs. Sinha had been able to breathe on her own but the doctors prefer to keep her on the ventilator until further improvement in her condition.

Kumar, who had been by her side since she was brought to the hospital in New Delhi, had to cancel his weekly public meeting in Patna.

"We have a great team of leaders and ministers in Bihar who are quite capable of managing things without the Chief Minister's presence for as long as needed," a senior official from the Bihar government said on Sunday.
