Patna: May 8, 2007

Law students boycott exam. Photo by Shashi UttamPatna University law students, for the second time in as many days on Tuesday, boycotted the LLB exams because of the administration's attempt to crackdown on cheating. Those who were reluctant to boycott the exams were forcibly taken out of the test centers and stopped from taking exams.

The exams were to start at 2:00 pm at B. N. College and Vanijya Mahavidyalaya when the examinees came out on the road chanting anti-administration slogans while saying the university officials were harassing them for no reason.

Meanwhile, authorities at Patna Science College, Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, and B. N. College seized a large number of cheats from the students appearing in graduate exams.

The students were given five minutes to surrender their cheats or face expulsion for 15 years. They were also physically checked for any cheat papers though in the absence of women officials, the girls managed to escape the dragnet.
