A state legislator in Muzaffarpur on Friday lodged a police report saying his teenaged daughter was abducted on May 4 and a demand of Rs. 1 crore was made for the safe return of the girl.

Dinesh Prasad Singh said his daughter Nishi Kumari, nicknamed Gudia, was abducted by a group of criminals on May 4.

On Thursday night the family received a phone call saying they would set the girl free for a price of Rs. 1 crore, Singh said in his FIR.

Five persons including a mukhia have been named accused in the case, DIG, Tirhut Range, Gupteshwar Pandey said.

It is not clear why Singh waited an entire week before filing a case of abduction.
