One Dead in Tractor-Motorcycle Accident

In a freak accident near Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Friday, one youth died when a tractor laden with potatoes and food grains turned over and fell on a passing motorcycle crushing three persons on it, the police said.
The motorcycle riders were rushed to the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) where one man died while other remains in serious condition. The victim was identified as Anant Kumar of Sitamarhi.
The accident occurred near the Children's Park under Gandhi Maidan police station when the tractor tried to go around the curve. Possibly due to the weight of the load, it tipped over on one side and crashed on the passing motorcycle, the police said.
The driver of the tractor managed to escape from the scene of the accident. The police has seized the tractor and is trying to identify its owner.
