Leaders from all Parties Mourn CM's Wife's Death

Whoever said adversity and conflict brings out the best and the worst among the warring factions could not have said it any better when several political rivals of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on Tuesday, setting aside their personal and political differences, came to offer their emotional support and sympathy to the grieving family in the wake of the premature death of Manju Sinha, the wife of Bihar CM.

Among those who were once on the same side of the political and ideological aisle but now belong in either different party or simply disagree with Kumar's way of functioning were former MP Arun Kumar and disgruntled Janata Dal (U) leader Upendra Kushwaha who stood beside the Chief Minister offering support to him urging him to be strong for his son and for the entire state of Bihar.

Representing the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were party state president Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Shyam Rajak, Ramai Ram, Shakeel Ahmed Khan, and Bhola Yadav who met with the Chief Minister and his son Nishi offering their sympathy and moral support in this trying time for the entire family.

Congress leader and state president Sadanand Singh also consoled the Chief Minister and his son while representing the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Ranjan Yadav, Pashupati Kumar Paras, Surajbhan Singh, and Sanjay Singh met with Kumar and offered their condolences to the grieving family.

Meanwhile, RJD chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav who was in Delhi on Tuesday talked with Nitish Kumar and expressed his deep sorrow over the Chief Minister's personal loss.

"You did everything that you could do but maybe God had a different plan," Yadav said adding he would return to Patna on Thursday and would meet with the Chief Minister at his residence in person.

Among the neutral personalities who also followed the funeral procession from the Chief Minister's house to Pahalwan Ghat was Bihar Governor R. S. Gavai, Patna High Court Chief Justice Dr. J. Bhatt, Assembly chairperson Uday Narayan Chowdhary, Legislative chairperson Prof. Arun Kumar, Sahara Group Managing Director J. Rai, and a host of senior state bureaucrats.
